Description:
Young writer Sal Paradise has his life could not cope with the influx of free-spirited Dean Moriarty and his vajzëne, Marylou. As they travel across the country, faced with connecting people, all of which affect their trip memorable.
Review:
There is very little American literature of the 20th century can be called indispensable for the understanding of our culture. And this is just one of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. As everyone knows, a barely veiled autobiographical account of Kerouac and his friends but was exuberant adventures across America. For 50 years, who had been waiting to be filmed. Now, last. So, everyone knows the story? However, it is likely that if you are like me, you read a book and remember almost nothing of history. This book burned through its history torn as if only absorb the energy of flame, the fuel is actually pace, even with full redundancy. Its momentum in the mess that sucks Kerouac world breathless. We were impressed with the energy, certainly not content.Film were used to amplify this effect, but this is not a movie it was. Instead, we have a more conventional, with a focus on character development. With good production, with interesting player. But the story came to us very different from the experience of the work. Script has been rewritten to increase the leeway and objectivity. See Sal Paradise, half way in the beginning of the story, pull himself as a serious writer. We see relentlessly cheerful Dean Moriarty finally deal with all progressive forces to self-destruction and suffering caused sacrilegious. This may be a reasonable reading Kerouac main feeling of this part of his life, but I feel that Kerouac share with us in the book. We lost our innocence, our last chance to come back, even for a few hours, not taken away.Im rage against the reform conception of history, but because it makes other changes in the book that can be improved. Some episodes were censored in the book is returned to the film. (Part of this discussion http://www.univie.ac.at/Anglistik/easyrider/data/BeatEros.htm). So this movie is historically accurate and most sexually explicit book. (It could also explain the delayed U.S. release). In a poignant scene, Karl Marx (Allen Ginsberg) who complain about Sal felt vulnerable because of his love for Dean-back pain. To the best of my recollection, the conversation was not in the book (please tell me if you think otherwise), but expressed in a personal letter from Ginsberg to Kerouac many years after the fact. This sort of thing is to change the emotional flow of the story, of course, but adds depth too.Few of us actually suffer from nostalgia overindulgences Beats outs. But remember, this comes at a time when society completely saturated with the message that everyone should be normal, safe and predictable. No small minority who often attack the message, and in particular without the path to chronicle the attack, the cultural revolution of the 1960s would be more difficult than was, and probably less effective. Good, bad or ugly, we have to accept this story.
