Review:
I went into this movie confident that it's cheesy, hackneyed romp with the same tried and true tricks of the trade, such as when the hero explores creepy music from the basement and a cat jumps into the frame, but soon discovered that this is not the case with Insidious. After watching the parade and overwhelmed her. For about 12 hours now, I can honestly say that I saw one of the scariest movies of all time Ive Actually, there were several points during the film where screamed as 13-year-old girl at Justin Beiber concert. Remember, I was aware of trying my best to keep my composure, mainly because I sit next to my new girlfriend of 2 months. That is the way not peek, thank God, I found out later that she had her eyes closed the whole time. I was also expecting to see some blood and guts, especially the guys who made Saw, but it did not drop. Instead, they used just about everything else in their arsenal to scare the bejesus out of me and everyone else in the theater (my girlfriend included). From literally the opening credits, they created intense, haunting tension that has my body to several whiskey and half a Xanax later. And the movie constantly feeds that tension, and even the characters mundane family life somehow seem quite scary. I was actually exhausted leaving the theater at all uncomfortable squirming I was able to control the situation. Id say that it burned the most calories I've ever while watching a movie (well, at least a PG-13 movie). Overall, the movie was excellent. It was crazy scary, thoroughly entertaining and even surprisingly funny at times. Having said that, it will take some time before you see another horror movie, I do not feel like tattered nerves turned back in the foreseeable future. So, if you want to watch this movie, please consider this a warning reminder: probably the best experience with someone whos already have a complete physical and mental breakdown, so as to avoid an embarrassing trip to go home. And maybe bring a Xanax as well.
