Review:
Tyler Perry takes on the character of Alex Cross and he failed miserably. Although he is hardly the only one at fault here. The problem starts with the screenplay, which is nothing short of miserable. Each of the main characters one dimensional without any progress. Pattersons novel is condensed down to a formulaic and predictable plot, where you can see the coming a mile away. No development villain, why he does what he wants and why a professional assassin make the choices it makes. Time really makes no sense in this movie. Events that occurred over time in the book is condensed down to minutes in this film. I havent seen for a while scannáni Ive been told myself You've got to be kidding me many times because the scene is so incredible. Rob Cohens direction is nothing short of terrible. Action scenes are so blurry you can not tell who beat up. If theres no action scenes, the rest of the talking heads film 70s film made for television. The acting flat out stinks (with the exception of brief appearances all Cicely Tyson and Giancarlo Esposito). No chemistry with Perry and Ed Burns and no chemistry between the villain (Matthew Fox) and Perry. The film score sounds almost like a movie from the 70s week. The only value in getting this film I find the site. There were great uses of the buildings in the movie Detroit. Other than that, do not waste your time.
